Topic: "The Veterinarian's Role in Beekeeping"
We are fortunate to have Dr. Rebekah Gunn, a veterinarian and a beekeeper in the Chatham County Beekeepers Association, speak with us about the new relationship between beekeepers and veterinarians. Born and raised in Pittsboro, NC, she graduated from NC State in Veterinary Medicine and conducted a residency at the University of Florida in Clinical Pathology. A beekeeper since 2016, Rebekah has found the opportunity to combine her love of production animal medicine (with bees) and the study of disease. Her talk will focus on the Veterinary Feed Directive, American Foulbrood, and European Foulbrood with a relevant case study. We all want to have healthy bees, so please join us to find out how veterinarians help beekeepers!
