Forsyth County Beekeepers Association
Forsyth County Beekeepers Association August Meeting - Ryan Harrison "Mosquito Control and Bees" The Tour of Frank's Perennial Border has been rescheduled for next year's May meeting.
Please follow the directions in the FCBA Newsletter to register in advance for the meeting. You will then receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting which will have a link to click when it is time for the meeting.
Ryan Harrison, the Vector Control Specialist at the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, will discuss the best ways to control mosquitoes without harming your bees. He will also talk about how Forsyth County handles mosquito complaints, and what to do if it ever becomes necessary to spray by the County for public health reasons. He will also provide information for signing up to receive advance notice of County spraying so that we can take steps to protect our bees. With the widespread use of spraying after hurricanes in some locations, and with the possibility of mosquito-vectored diseases becoming more prevalent, it's important for beekeepers to know what can happen and what to do about it!
